Horowhenua Kapiti FUN DAY down at Waikanae Park. All welcome.
CHAD LAW – RETURNS BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
We are excited to announce that joining the team as our Community Pathway Coordinator is Chad Law. Chad has a varied and exciting role which will see him support both Matt Gibbs and Matthew Good in the community and development space. He will also take charge of continuing the good work Ram has initiated by working with our pathway teams and coaches along with providing the administration support vacated by BC.
Chad grew up in Ōtaki and was a very proud junior Horowhenua Kāpiti representative cricketer up until the age of 12 before the family relocated to Palmerston North where he attended and played for PNBHS. Chad played age group representative cricket for Central Districts both as a Horowhenua Kāpiti junior and then out of Manawatū. He represented Manawatū through to a senior level whilst playing club cricket for Palmerston North Old Boys.
Chad joins us with extensive experience working in a district environment having worked for Manawatū Cricket Association for 6 years across a range of areas. Chad has been keeping a close eye on HK with volunteering at many of our events held over the season and has an awesome can do attitude. Currently based out at Foxton Beach he says “It’s always been the goal to come home to where it all began and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to contribute towards the exciting growth of people and cricket in HK”
HKCA Chairman John Fluker acknowledges the positive contributions the departing staff have made and says the inclusion of Chad to the team will add immense value to our district. “Chad fits the bill as we look to improve our resourcing in the Community Pathway space” said Fluker. Chad has now started and will be slowly building up his hours as the needs of our district require and will be full time come September 2018.
With season 2017/18 coming to a close HKCA’s Chief Executive David O’Brien would like to take this opportunity to thank both High Performance & Development Officer Ramesh Subasinghe and Summer Squad Development Officer Tharaka “Wads” Wadgue for their contribution to our district over the last 18 months and 6 months respectively. Both Wads and Ram’s contracts finish at the end of this season and we all wish them well for their future endeavours.
Brett Cole, BC after three solid years supporting HKCA as an administrator will also be finishing up. A favour to me that has been extended until now has to be recognised extremely positively – BC jumped on board and certainly helped steer the ship back on track and we are sincerely grateful for this. BC will continue to support Weraroa and spend more time developing his own business interests.
If you get an opportunity over the coming month please take the time to thank Ram, BC and Wads for the time they have put into our fantastic District.
