How it works
Once enrolled, each school selects up to 10 students per session group. All schools must include Year 3/4 and 5/6 groups. The total number of participants cannot exceed 30. Sessions are designed to develop fundamental movement and sport-specific skills in a supportive environment.
Smash Play Festival
A celebration of participation, teamwork, and fun
Schools enter at least one team per smash session group selected (Years 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8)
Festival format includes 6 or 8-a-side modified games, played in pairs
Events will be held in Kapiti and Levin in Term 4 (November) and Term 1 (TBC)
Each team plays four games in a round-robin structure
HKCA will provide umpires and scorers where possible, with additional support from teachers or parents if required
All participants receive a certificate and a small prize (ball, bag, or hat)
Each festival concludes with a prizegiving, BBQ, and refreshments
