We offer a range of cricket programmes designed to cater to all ages and stages of junior players across our region. Whether you're new to the game or returning for another season, HKCA Cubs Cricket has a grade that’s right for you.

Available Grades

  • Year 0 to Year 2: First Smash

  • Year 3 / Year 4: T16 Cubs

  • Year 5 / Year 6: T20 Cubs

  • Year 7 / Year 8: T24 Cubs

  • Year 3 to Year 6: Girls Smash (Girls only)

  • Year 6 to Year 10: T16 Girls Cricket (Introduction to Hardball)

What is Kookaburra Cubs Cricket?

Cubs Cricket is designed to create fun, age-appropriate playing experiences for junior cricketers. Modified pitch lengths, boundary sizes, and rules are used to support player development. Cubs Cricket aligns with New Zealand Cricket’s Age & Stage formats, which are being adopted nationally.

Payments

  • $70 – First Smash, Girls Smash, T16 Girls Cricket

  • $70 – T16 Cubs, T20 Cubs, T24 Cubs

If you select a club during registration, your details will be passed on to that club's Junior Convenor. New players will be contacted in September once team placements are complete.

NZ Cricket – Coaching and Vulnerable Persons Policy

HKCA is proud to align with NZC Age and Stage Guidelines. We have your children’s best interests at heart. All our Coaches are now required to complete level-appropriate online theory and practical cricket coaching courses which also include modules on Vulnerable Persons. Over time this will only improve the experience for all our participants. HKCA would like to acknowledge and thank all the family members that have supported this initiative.
