Pathway and Development Manager: Artha Liyanage
Artha joined the HKCA family in October 2022, bringing with him a wealth of cricketing knowledge and international coaching experience. He currently serves as our Development and Participation Coordinator and is also the Head Coach and a player for our Senior Men’s representative team, the Bears.
Artha holds an ICC Level 3 Coaching Qualification and has previously held prestigious roles including Head Coach of the Bahrain Women’s National Team, the U19 Youth Team, and Assistant Coach of the Bahrain Men’s National Team. In New Zealand, he has played and coached at representative level for Marlborough and South Canterbury, and before that, competed in first-class cricket in Sri Lanka.
His leadership and expertise have been instrumental in the continued development of HKCA’s pathway and performance environments. Since the 2024/25 season, Artha has taken on the role of Head Coach for the HKCA Senior Men’s Representative Team, leading both on and off the field.
Outside of cricket, Artha enjoys spending quality time with friends and staying fit — you’ll often find him lifting weights at the gym when he’s not out in the middle.

Community Cricket Development Officer: Lasinda Nimsara
Lasi joined the HKCA family in August 2025, bringing a strong cricketing background as a former first class player in Sri Lanka.
After moving to New Zealand in August 2024, he competed in the 2024/25 season in Auckland Senior Club Cricket, expanding his playing experience in a new cricketing environment.
Before relocating, Lasi gained valuable coaching exprience in Sri Lanka, working with players at various levels and helping develop emerging talent. This blend of high level playing experience and grassroots coaching knowledge is now being channelled into his role as Community Cricket Development Officer. Where he will be focused on growing participation and engagement across the region.
Outside of cricket, Lasi enjoys spending time with family and friends, balancing his professional passion for the sport of cricket with a strong sense of community and connection.
