David oversees all the operational components of HKCA and ensures everything is running smoothly and on time. Outside of cricket David enjoys spending time with his family, going to sporting events, and traveling.

Community and Pathways Coordinator: Andre Halbert

Andre is an HK lad through and through. Andre’s cricketing journey started here in HK many years ago since then he has played throughout the whole pathway system and has Captained the Bears. We are incredibly blessed to have someone of Dre’s experience and knowledge be a part of our team. In his spare time, Andre loves spending valuable time with his Whanau and his Dog Reggie. Andre is the first point of contact for all senior and junior representative inquiries.

Umpires, Scorers and Volunteers Support Manager: Gary O’Brien

Gary is a widely respected character in the cricket community and has been a stalwart of Horowhenua Kapiti Cricket for many years in numerous domains including, Junior representative coaching, Senior Men’s manager, and many others. Gary’s skills extend much further than Cricket. He is known for his ability in the kitchen where He and His Wife Maree do a lot of the catering for many of our events. On the rare occasion, Gary is away from the cricket scene where he is spending time with his family and the people he is close to.

Community Development & Participation Coordinator: Prabodha Arthavidu (Artha)

Prabodha Arthavidu (Artha) joined the HKCA family in October of 2022, as our Development and Participation Coordinator and also joined our Senior Mens side (The Bears). Artha has a rich cricketing background, Artha holds ICC level 3 qualifications and he previously was the head coach of the Bahrain Womens Cricket team. Artha has also worked for and played representative for Marlborough and South Canterbury. On top of this Artha formerly played first class cricket in Sri Lanka. Outside of cricket Artha loves spending time with his family and pumping iron at the gym.

Junior Rep Officer & Community Cricket Coordinator: Samuel Anderson

Samuel has had a huge love for cricket since a young age. Whether it be playing, coaching, or volunteering Samuel is a familiar face around the cricket park. Samuel is currently studying at the University of Otago doing a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Accounting and Minoring in Finance. His role with HKCA is Junior Rep Officer which involves working closely with Artha and Andre with the cricket in schools Programme and the pathway cricket. Outside of cricket Samuel loves spending time with his Mates and getting involved with other sports.
