HKCA's 55th Annual General Meeting

Last evening HKCA held their 55th Annual General Meeting at our business sponsor O'Malleys Bar and Grill in Levin.

The event was extremely well attended with representatives from every club present with members of the HKCA Senior Men's Squad also in attendance.

The past year has seen HKCA produce positive results both on and off the field with development and pathway programmes continuing to produce great numbers and opportunities, our finances are in a healthy state and our Governance team is engaging and future focused.

HKCA Chairman, John Fluker, CEO, David O'Brien, Pathways and Community Coordinator, Chad Law and Development Manager, Matt Good all submitted their annual reports and delivered a speech on their areas of influence.

Highlights were many, including the successful birth of HKCA Cubs Junior Cricket, Increased representation at the CD level, Growth of our pathway programme with three additional teams, two of which are female. Huge growth in school participation opportunities and local Boys and Girls College competitions taking place regularly. We could go on.....

Director, Shaun Tyson spoke about the need for improving our Director Pathway and presented a motion to allow the Board to offer up to two Aspiring Director roles. This was unanimously voted in the affirmative, which is incredibly exciting and will certainly improve our Governance opportunities.

John Fluker continues as Chairman
Peter Moody continues as our Patron
Mark Parker continues his second year as President
Gerald De Castro continues as an honorary Vice President

An exciting announcement was made where Chad Law introduced HKCA HMC Kapiti Senior Men's new captain in Andre Halbert. Andre's first task will be leading the Senior Men's side in a very exciting Pre-Season tour to Melbourne, Australia where the senior side will compete in a series of fixtures, trainings, gym sessions and team bonding activities. We wish Andre and the Senior side all the best for the season ahead.

Lastly, a special evening was drawn to a close with a special presentation taking place. HKCA's Presidents Shield was handed out to David O'Brien for his outstanding contribution to our regions cricket, not just over the last 12 months, but since taking the reigns over three years ago. David was presented the President Shield by President, Mark Parker.

Thanks to everyone who has made the last 12 months a huge success, here is to another stellar year moving forward.
