David has a real passion for cricket. In 2015 David moved into an operational role for HKCA as an addition to his role on the HKCA Board. A need was identified to initiate a different approach in the way the association was run and David was up for the challenge. David oversees all the operational components of HKCA. Outside of cricket David enjoys spending time with his family, going to sporting events and travelling.

Chad Law – Community and Pathways Co-ordinator - claw@hkca.co.nz

Chad has returned to Horowhenua Kapiti after nearly 16 years away from our association but has always kept a close eye on our region. Chad, a former Horowhenua Kapiti Junior rep player, moved to Manawatu where he worked and played representative cricket for our neighbours for over 6 years. Chad will slot into a newly created role as Community and Pathways Co-ordinator.

Standing at 6ft 7inches, the Gentle Giant has a real passion for cricket and the development in this region having gone through the system himself. With strong personal and working relationships with fellow professional players and associations, Chad will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Horowhenua Kapiti. Chad is delighted to join the HKCA team and will be the first point of contact for all senior and junior representative enquiries.



Matt Gibbs – Community Cricket Coordinator  –  hkcaclubs@gmail.com

Matt has a real passion for community cricket having been involved with club cricket in HK for the past 30yrs and active in club administration for the last 8. Matt works part time for HKCA and takes care of all local Club Cricket administering draws, announcing results and keeping tables up to date. Matt also is responsible for leading the delivery of the Central Districts U15 Tournament held in our district each year. Matt is a current member of the HKCA Masters Cricket Team and still enjoys playing for his Kapiti Old Boys Club. Outside of cricket I love spending time with my wife Nicki and 6 kids. If Matt has any spare time you will invariably find him playing golf or squash.

Mikaela Greig – HKCA Woman’s Development Officer

Mikaela has been working in various cricketing roles since she was 17 and has a real passion for the game. Mikaela is a current CD Hind representative and has aspirations to represent New Zealand. Mikaela helps deliver our Woman in Cricket Strategy, which focuses on growing participation and involvement for all girls/woman throughout our district. Under her belt, she has already helped develop three HKCA Girls Representative sides as well as producing two Girls Only teams that participate in our Cubs Cricket Competition. Mikaela also works as a Sport Coordinator for a local college, plays her club cricket for Wanderers in Palmerston North and has a soft spot for hot chocolate. 


Bailey Te Tomo - Community Development and Participation Officer - baileytetomo@hkca.co.nz

‘Bails’ plays his club cricket for Levin Old Boys and played age group representative cricket for Horowhenua Kapiti and is currently playing for the Horowhenua Kapiti senior men side. Bails is young, keen and enthusiastic and is excited to spread his knowledge of cricket to the young cricketers in this region. Outside of cricket ‘Bails’ enjoys putting the fishing rods out and attending sport events.
